And for each of those years Janet Beams has hosted an event for her community with the exception of the last two years due to COVID-19.
"We have a morning tea at our local hall for the local people," Mrs Beams said.
"It brings people together and gives people the chance to be able to donate to the Cancer Council."
Mrs Beams event is run thanks to her family who help out as well as community members.
The catering students at Queechy High School make about 150 cupcakes to help with fundraising at the event.
Mrs Beams said they have up to 160 guests at the morning tea, and has raised thousands over the years.
Cancer Council Tasmania CEO Penny Egan said about $4 million needed to be raised in Tasmania over the month of May to continue support services offered by Cancer Council.
"We're principally funded by the community so about 88 per cent of our funding comes from the Tasmanian community," Ms Egan said.
The community is encouraged to host Morning Tea events across the month of May. Register your event at www.biggestmorningtea.com.au/
Everyone is welcome to Mrs Beams event at Winkley Hall on May 22 at 10am.
