The fundraiser campaign kicks off today, but Lara Smart from the Kings Meadows and Devonport tyre company has been preparing for weeks already.

Tins sit on the counter at the Hobart Road and Formby Road stores, and a fundraising link has been posted on their social media pages as Ms Smart aims to raise at least $500 for the cause.
Ms Smart said personal connections and the realisation that 2020 had been a tough year for the charity inspired her to take up arms and raise some funds.
"We try and help the community where we can," she said.
"We saw as well some of the statistics about the money they [Cancer Council] didn't raise last year because COVID really impacted their fundraising.
"So, just following them, we though we could at least try and do our small bit."
She said a number of donations had already been made to the cause but hoped more would be forthcoming.

The morning tea event is officially on May 27 and Ms Smart said the centre would be providing coffee, tea and some little cakes on the day.

Cancer Council Tasmania chief executive Penny Egan said the morning tea was one of the council's biggest fund and awareness raisers.
She encouraged anyone that could to participate by holding a morning tea or donating where they could.

"You can hold Australia's Biggest Morning Tea at your own with friends or family, in the office with workmates, virtually (COVID-19 style) or a gathering in a local community or school," she said.
