COACH SAYS: "We've got a really good core group of experienced girls, so our expectations are to improve as much as we can with the new girls coming along.
"Some of them are good young girls, so we definitely want finals and hopefully the ultimate but everyone hopes that at this time of year.
"I've had well over 10 years of coaching men ... and I've really enjoyed it [coaching women], it takes us right back to the basics but then you've got some girls that can really play footy - they make it really enjoyable as a coach."

EVANDALE

Captain: Georgia Rowley
Previous results: Third (2019)
Ins: Shar Dudman, Gemma Poke, Clare Mattern, Nicky Sherwood, Elsie Campbell, Jenni Hughes, Ebony Burgess, Lisa Woods, Hayley Marshall, Lav Lindsay, Crystal Blake, Stephanie Walker, Robyn Allchin.

"There's a new-found belief in the group [after the gala days], that we are definitely going to be competitive and we shouldn't be taken lightly.
"The actual culture at the club is probably the best it has been since I've been there, we work in with the men now, training together some nights - it's very inclusive out there now as a club.
"We are just happy that football is back, it's nice to have it back again."
OLD SCOTCH
Coach: Deb Reynolds
Captain: Chloe Pitt
Previous results: Seventh (2019)
COACH SAYS: "We are building our team based on a strong team culture, which involves growth, opportunity and values - that was really important in selecting the group of girls in our club.
"The club itself has been amazing in terms of being very inclusive, and supportive. When you say 'one club' that's exactly what it is.
"We continued our learning and our growth [throughout the gala day matches] and we managed to try some girls in different positions, and the girls that have never played before, that was their opportunity to actually play some football.
"We enjoy ourselves at both training and game level, which is a really important factor to ensure ongoing participation and growth."
GEORGE TOWN
Coach: Dave Marshall
Captain: Briana Hinkley
Previous results: Eighth (2019)
Ins: Letitia Aalbregt, Renee Wilson, Jodie Clifford, Isabella Brunacci, Lydia Holz, Briana Hinkley.
Outs: Cara Digney
COACH SAYS: "We've done alright in the gala days so far, so at the moment they are going really good.
"From when we finished off before we got shut down we were pretty well prepared and a year on, the girls have progressed really well.
"We've got a few first-year players that haven't played before so to have on-field leaders is a bonus because you can't just stop the game at any situation and have to explain things, so it's really good having them there."
In the last of three previews to the NTFAW season, The Examiner previews the sides that didn't take the field in 2020: South Launceston, Evandale, Old Scotch and George Town.
The NTFA women's competition has grown from eight sides in 2019 to a 12-team roster and has benefitted from the disbandment of the statewide competition.
