Jobi Harper and Jackson Thurlow, who coach Mitch Thorp praised for their round-one work, are among seven Blues missing the Magpies clash.
Isaac Hyatt, Liam Jones and Colby McKercher miss through Devils, with vice-captain Miller Hodge and 150-gamer Jake Smith also out.
It isn't all doom and gloom for the Blues, welcoming back Fletcher Seymour and Michael Musicka alongside a plethora of young talent - Liam Canny, multi-sport star Aidan O'Connor, Sam Foley, Jett Maloney and Connor Riethoff.
Despite the Blues sitting atop the ladder after a 102-point win over North Hobart, Thorp is still searching for improvement after last week's 20.19 goal-kicking performance.
"Our efficiency going inside 50 was quite poor and our efficiency in front of goal was poor as well," he said.
"We kicked a lot of behinds, I think we kicked six behinds before our first goal and then in the third quarter, we kicked 1.7, so there's a little bit of work to do in front of goal and we've worked on that this week."
Starting the season with five out of the first six games at home, the Blues travel to Kingborough next week for what shapes to be a key clash, before facing North Launceston on Good Friday.
Ahead of a crucial fortnight, Thorp knows how important it is to build momentum.
"We've got some stuff that we want to work on, particularly at the stoppage, we got beaten last week at clearance so there's some work to do around the footy," he said.
"We don't want to flirt with form in any way, shape or form, we need to make sure we have a strong four-quarter performance."
Glenorchy will have skipper Josh Arnold at their disposal for the first time this season as well as Richard Dilger, while Blue Dylan Riley will play D-League.
