The Devils' season doesn't start until next week due to the round-one bye but they are still unavailable this week, which disappointed the North Launceston leader.
"We've had plenty of good feedback from AFL clubs about a couple of our guys and now we lose them and they're not actually playing," he said.
"If they were playing Devils, we'd be like 'go for it', we want our guys to be playing but they're not playing so that's where the frustration sets in.

"The more games they play, the more people are going to be able to watch them and with our TSL games being so accessible, on Monday I was having questions asked about some of our players that I haven't had asked before.
"That's because they can watch the games straight away on YouTube or wherever."
Cox-Goodyer was impressed with the performance of his new-look team last week, coming away with a 110-point win over Glenorchy, who had several players out with COVID.
He said the way his side took on his game plan "took him by surprise".
"I can drum it into them as much as they like but until they actually play a game, it's always a bit of an unknown," he said.
"I obviously didn't play on-ball and I was able to see the game a bit better and it was really exciting, really fast-paced and I think that's the way to play Lauderdale as well.
"They've got some big strong bodies so if we can use our speed, I want to keep encouraging that."
One of his key moves last week was putting Michael Stingel in the middle for his first taste of on-ball play in senior football.
He's backing his young pocket-rocket again this week, but admits it could be a challenge against the likes of Allen Christensen, Sam Siggins, Josh McGuinness, Bryce Walsh and Nat Franklin.
"They'll be strong around the ball, they always are," Cox-Goodyer said.
"It's going to be a tough task, it always is when you go to Lauderdale Oval and they've got some good top-end talent so we're going to need to be good across the board."
Cox-Goodyer himself has taken a step back from midfield duties but he already feels that's improving his coaching.
"I felt like I wasn't able to coach as much as I could on ground being an on-baller - I was always worrying about what I was doing around stoppages," he said.
"Even after one game, I can see the benefits of myself doing that.
"I may not be able to be the best player on the ground anymore or whatever it is but when you look at guys like Michael Stingel, Ben Simpson taking that next step, it makes it much easier for yourself."
North have named three debutants for the clash with Jack Aherne, Mitchell Nicholas and Will Gibson playing their first senior game, while Jacob Kerr, Lockie Mitchell and Fletcher Bennett come in at the expense of Oscar Van Dam, Ethan Hubbard, Connor Leeflang, Heath Ollington, Brandon Leary and Lachie Cowan.
The hosts made four changes, welcoming Oscar and Ned Shaw, Christensen and Jayden Magro as they aim to avoid going 0-2 on their home deck to start the season.
This match was originally scheduled for UTAS Stadium but was moved south when news of an AFL curtain-raiser in Launceston between the two teams was confirmed.
