A familiar plot line has Launceston coach Mitch Thorp determined to direct a different ending when Clarence arrives on Saturday.

Sending an undermanned 22 to Windsor Park last season, the Roos won by a solitary point when Luke Swinton kicked the game's third goal late in the last term.
Swinton joined Colin Garland, Jake Steele and Wade Wall among seven inclusions for Saturday's side, with Jason Bailey, Ethan Jackson and Josh Green suspended, Keegan Wylie and Baxter Norton injured and Noah Holmes unavailable.
Thorp said the Roos had plenty of depth to cover their outs and would be hungry to rebound from a disappointing loss to Kingborough.
MORE TSL: Jobi Harper cleared of fuse-lighting
"We're very wary - human nature is a funny thing and seven days is a long time in footy and I'm sure that they ... will be really motivated to have a strong performance," Thorp said.
"You've only got to reflect 12 months ago on the exact same weekend ... it's very similar circumstances.
"They've lost a couple this week through suspension like last year, they lost Brady Jones and a few of their senior guys and they came up here with a real attitude and beat us.
"Let's not forget their development league haven't lost a game yet, so there's some boys in that team that have been playing good footy and we'll have to be on our toes."
The Blues have made just one change, with Liam Jones replacing fellow young gun Colby McKercher.
Michael Musicka trained throughout the week and has been named as an emergency, while young defender Jacob Boyd will make his return through the development league.
Thorp has again been named as an emergency as his side manages an overabundance of gun talls.
MORE SPORT: Midfield is magic for Tarryn Thomas
"We've got a lot of integrity around our match committee and we feel like Cody Thorp, Joe Groenewegen and Hamish Leedham are doing a fantastic job not only as forwards but as ruckmen as well," Thorp said.
"They're a little bit younger than I am and they're certainly doing a great job in the key-post positions. Add to that Alec Wright and Jamieson House behind the ball, so we feel like our spine is really strong.
"There's always the temptation just to play yourself, but my role at the footy club is to coach first and foremost."
Thorp said skipper Jobi Harper, who starred on return last week with 22 touches and three goals, could spend another week on the wing.
Sitting in fourth at 6-4, Jeromey Webberley's Clarence "looked like a team coming off the bye" last round.
The Roos were overwhelmed when the two sides met at Bellerive Oval in round six, but still have the personnel and belief to match it with the league's best.
"It's going to be a great test for a younger group and some guys that people won't have heard much of or seen much of," Webberley said.
"If we're good enough this week and we give ourselves an opportunity, we'll win the game. If we give ourselves the opportunity but don't quite get the result, as long as the effort's there, we'll be content with that.
"We have to make sure we bring the Clarence brand that we talk about all the time and the last couple of weeks we haven't brought that, so we need to rectify that this weekend."
Webberley backed basketball convert Ole Angerstein to have a bigger influence than when the two sides last met.
"Ole's been someone that's been a real positive or us - he's raw and he's learning the game, but every week he's having his 50 or 60 hit-outs and giving our inside mids first use," he said.
"That's one area of our game we need to get better at, we're not maximising the dominance of Ole in the ruck.
"It's a really big test for him - Groenewegen was super last game with exposing him away from the contest, so we need to make sure we get a better result there and I'm sure Ole's looking forward to the challenge."
