A ceremony was held at Campbell Town on Saturday to commemorate some of the unsung heroes of war.
War Animal Remembrance Day recognises the efforts of the animals that have served in times of war.

Northern Tasmanian Light Horse Troop coordinator Terese Binns said the troop liked to remind the public that the animals were serving and respected members of defence forces.
"A lot of people just aren't aware of the use of animals," she said.
"Their loyalty and service are being acknowledged today.
"They served alongside our armed forces, giving it their all."

During the ceremony, a prayer and an ode were read out, both written specifically to commemorate the animals.
Wreaths were also placed to show respect.
Animals such as camels, donkeys, pigeons, dogs and horses have all served in times of war.
Ms Binns said that the use of animals was only increasing in the Australian Defence Force.
Though the day falls on February 24, the troop held the ceremony on a weekend so more people were able to attend.
ADF Trackers and War Dogs Association Tasmanian branch chairperson Shaun Dobson OAM said he was impressed with the attendance.
"I was rather privileged to be a part of the whole turn out, especially as guest speaker," he said.
