The two Northern-based sides finished the home-and-away season in first and second place and do battle with Clarence and Lauderdale respectively on Saturday for the the final's hosting rights.
If either side can pick up the win, the final will be hosted next Saturday on October 17 but if both Southern sides can cause an upset, the big dance will be played at North Hobart Oval on the original date of October 18.
A Southern grand final will also see the development league and TSLW grand finals played at a separate venue to maximise crowd attendance.

Announced on Wednesday, the news comes thanks to a review from Worksafe Tasmania, public health and sport and recreation - which deemed it safe to increase the seated capacity of UTAS Stadium to 25 per cent.
Minister for sport and recreation Jane Howlett said a framework is being put in place to further assist organisers of events with COVID guidelines.
"The grand final, should it be played at UTAS Stadium, will provide useful information and learnings for the ongoing development of this framework," she said.
"I am confident that with the work that has already gone into the planning for the grand final, a larger capacity seated crowd can be safely accommodated at UTAS Stadium in line with the venue's COVID-Safe plan."
A Northern-based grand final with up to 3000 people would be the most-attended match this season, with early-round contests capped at 500 before limits were raised to 1000 three weeks ago while North Hobart's round nine clash against North Launceston trialed up to 1250 people in attendance.
