Returning to the Blues after a year in the SANFL, House is free from the injuries that plagued his 2019 and has the flexibility to play almost anywhere on the ground.
Hodge was quick to nominate his fellow 19-year-old as the recruit to have impressed most in pre-season.
"Jamieson House - he's been here before obviously at the club and then he went away and came back and even since we came back from the coronavirus break just a few weeks ago he's come back in really good nick," Hodge said.
"He's fit and moving well but all the recruits have impressed.
"Julian [James] has come just late, he's only just arrived and he's fitted in well and Mus [Michael Musicka] has obviously come back, he's my brother-in-law and he's in good shape as well.
"I think the best thing about our group is that if you're willing to do the work, the group will welcome you with open arms and all the boys have fitted in really well.
"They've all found their spot and are ready to take part in 2020."
House and Musicka join a long list of players returning to Windsor Park this year with Joe Groenewegen, Tim Auckland and Jake Hinds also signing up.
The Blues will kick off 2020 with a trip to Glenorchy on Saturday before a Northern derby in round two.
