With AFL-affiliated players unable to play VFL due to COVID-19 concerns, the side's reserves faced off against Carlton's, with the 24-year-old certainly impressing development coach Matthew Egan.
"He missed a little bit of training with a sore quad, so he was a bit stiff to miss out on selection, but he was really influential - in particular in the second half," Egan told Melbournefc.com.au.
"He helped out his teammates in the air and used the ball really well coming out of defence - he looked really good."

Although scores weren't recorded in the 17-a-side hit-out, which featured 14 players on the ground, it's reported that Melbourne kicked close to 10 more goals than the Blues in the clash.
A member of Melbourne's round one side that fell to West Coast 11 weeks ago, the reliable defender has pieced together 13 games since making his debut in round two last year.
Joining the club through the pre-season supplemental selection period, it only took 15 days of being on Melbourne's list before playing his first match.
