First up on the itinerary was a trip to Tasmania Zoo, where the girls had a cuddle with native animals including Tasmanian devils and wombats.
They also had a boot camp in the Cataract Gorge, and will do a range of other sight-seeing activities before the crowning ceremony on Saturday night.
The teenage girls will be judged on personal interviews, photo presentation, evening/formal wear, swimwear (senior category) and active sportswear (junior category), and all entrants will be eligible for internet voting for the People's Choice Award.
