The Kangaroos played their first game under new coach Peter Ryan last week, going down by 34 points, while Cox-Goodyer and his young crew got over the line against Lauderdale.
"We've only had one look at them and they played a pretty good side in Kingborough but they had good patches," Cox-Goodyer said.
"I think with a young team, you're always going to have ups and downs and they're pretty similar to us.
"Both teams are pretty youthful so it should be a nice, quick game and good viewing."
Cox-Goodyer identified his side's "work around the ball" as their key to success against their Southern opponents, with co-captain Ben Simpson and young gun Michael Stingel both racking it up last week.
Simpson finished with 40 touches and was named one of Premier Data's players of the week around the country, while Stingel had 37 disposals and leads the player of the year competition.
"They've obviously got some very good midfielders as well - Baxter Norton, Mitch Rainbird, Jarrod Harper and Jack Preshaw - some good guys that they've had there for a number of years," Cox-Goodyer said.
"If we can continually work and win the stoppages and get the ball forward because I feel like when we get the ball forward we control the game really well and we are pretty hard to get out of our 50.
"It's just going to be continuing to work on those things, we're not going to put too much worry and thought into Clarence, I mean that's not disrespectful, but it's round three and we've got to focus on ourselves and continually improve."
Jack Avent and Nathan Pearce will miss through COVID this week, with Cox-Goodyer estimating 11 of their best 22 are missing through the virus, Tasmania Devils or injury.
However, that offers opportunity for Andy Potter and Cobey Evans, with the Bombers' depth on show.
"Especially with our list turnover and a couple of unavailabilities with Devils and things like that, it gives us great confidence that there's a 'next man up' mentality and guys can come in and play a role.
"We've got quite a deep list, they may not be top-end talent but there's a lot of guys that compete and that's all we ask for."
