A man aged in his late seventies has died with COVID-19 on Tasmania's North West.

Health minister Jeremy Rockliff made the announcement today, following the man's death on Saturday.
"Public Health has confirmed that a man in his Iate 70s passed away in the North West Regional Hospital Intensive Care Unit with COVID-19 on April 2," Mr Rockliff said.
"I would like to pass on my sincerest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of the man who sadly passed away."
It comes as the state records 2,408 new cases.
A total of 39 Tasmanians across the state are being treated in hospital, including one person in intensive care.
There are 877 patients have symptoms which have led them to enter the Covid@Home program.
A further 21 are in Community Case Management Facilities.
Mr Rockliff said more than 67 per cent of Tasmanians have now received their booster dose.
"We want to see even more people turn up and boost their protection against COVID, particularly before we head into the winter season," he said.
"Importantly, 82.70 per cent of our over 50 population have now been boosted. The evidence remains clear that the most important thing you can do to protect yourself and your loved ones is to remain up to date with your COVID vaccination."
