It looked promising early for the JackJumpers as they shone in the second term, out-scoring the home side 13 points to six as the visitors rushed the Taipans in possession.

The two sides had traded turnovers throughout the night as they struggled to find their rhythm in attack but it was Cairns that made the adjustments quicker.
It showed in the defining third-term as the JackJumpers could only muster six points while the Taipans took full toll to add 19 of their own and establish a match-winning lead.
Taipans import Tahjere Mccall (20 points) and Kouat Noi played mega minutes for the home side but made it count as they scored at will as McCall's spin move and dynamism left the JackJumpers searching for answers.

The JackJumpers second loss of the season was compounded by a sub-par shooting performance as they sunk 5 of 34 at 14 per cent from three-point range and 24 of 76 as they let the Taipans escape any scoreboard pressure.
Key scorers Josh Magette (2-10) and Josh Adams (1-10) struggled to find their range from three-point land in particular as Scott Roth was left bemoaning a flat performance from his squad at the third-quarter time-out.
The JackJumpers will go back to the drawing board ahead of away fixtures against the Perth Wildcats and Sydney Kings next week.
