Australian hip-hop legends Bliss n Eso will be heading to the Apple Isle for performances in both Launceston and Hobart as part of their new tour.
The band will perform 33 dates across regional and metro areas in every state and territory from January-April 2022, in support of their seventh studio album The Sun.
The new album finds hope in sombre experiences and offers solace in an age of disquiet, thematising contemplation, healing, and fortitude.
Singles Lighthouse, So Happy/Send It, Good People, and OG's were released prior to the album dropping in August.
Brisbane hip-hop artist iiiConic, originating from Ghana, West Africa, will be opening for the band for the Tasmanian dates.
Band member Max MacKinnon - also known as Eso - said it felt like a lifetime since the band had visited Tasmania.
"The 95 per cent of you are pretty bloody psycho," he said jokingly, "which is exactly what we need at a live show."
MacKinnon said the band had always experienced amazing live shows in Tasmania and they were excited to share their new album.
"These smaller [towns and cities] are so thirsty for music to come through," he said.
"For us, the cool thing about hip hop is it's like a therapeutic vessel. It's always there for me to tell my story or express things. We have been doing this for a while, you guys have seen us grow.
"With this album, we had the chance to stop for a second and look back, and gauge what we have been through."
MacKinnon said the band could say and express things that others wished they could, but may feel too embarrassed or scared to.
"It is deep, it is different to other hip hop. There's always a message in our music, there is always something you can take from it," he said.
"I just hope people listen to the album with an opened mind and open heart."
Those listening to the album will recognise the same Bliss n Eso they know and love, as well as a blend of different hip-hop styles.
"That's what happens when you have three blokes and you have to work with each other," MacKinnon said.
"But, we still have the same love for the craft."
Bliss n Eso fans may not have to wait too long for the band's next project, with MacKinnon letting slip that they have already been working on more new music in the background.
"We are going to hit you so quickly ... but I can't give away too much," he said.
