A development application was lodged on Wednesday to reclassify the former Petuna Seafood building from tenancy space to professional offices.
The plans indicated a change in signage for the building, including longer sections advertising the Labor party along each of Wellington and Howick streets.
A smaller "Labor Janie Finlay" sign facing towards Wellington Street was also proposed.
A vinyl silhouette of human figures was hoping to be added to the streetscapes to "accentuate the community engagement and welcoming nature" of the proposed MP office.
The application was lodged by Plans to Build manager Leigh Dell.
The lodgement came just more than four months after Ms Finlay was elected to the state's upper house.
The building was a feature of Ms Finlay's election run while it was home to of her two large election signs.
By the end of July the sign had not been removed prompting queries over whether or not it breached the seven-day post election limit for removing election related signs.
At that time Ms Finlay said the Petuna Seafood building would be the site of her new office, with a lease locked in, and the sign was not linked to the election.
The sign had been removed prior to the lodgement of the application.
