After a small taste of spring on Thursday, with Launceston reaching a maximum of 23 degrees, there was a change in weather with widespread rain of 5-15mm on Friday and a maximum of 17 degrees.
A slow moving cold front brought rain across most of the state on Friday with widespread rain in Launceston and a maximum of 17 degrees.
Rivers are expected to rise in response to the rainfall and isolated floods may develop into the weekend. The Bureau of Meteorology has advised that another front will cross the state on Sunday. Tasmania Police also advising to drive to conditions and be cautious in the wet.
There is also a flood watch warning in place for the North Esk and South Esk Rivers, as well as Meander River.
