The TDF Art Prize is part of the inaugural Tasmanian Disability Festival which will be held in the North in December.
The festival is a landmark event for Tasmanians living with disability, and is the first of its kind to be held in the state.
Set to be held at Woolmers Estate on December 3 and 4, the festival will incorporate a series of events and initiatives that will offer people living with disability, carers and those associated with a space to connect.
Exhibition curator and TDF Art Prize judge Patrick Sutczak has worked extensively in the Tasmanian arts sector and is excited about seeing the work that entrants submit.
"This is an exciting opportunity to facilitate and foster creativity from the multitude of talented individuals that we have in this state, while at the same time providing a significant platform for sharing and connection," he said.
"I just think art is for everybody and creativity should have no bounds and no restrictions.
"This event is really, really inclusive and I'm very excited about it."
Anyone who identifies as living with a disability is encouraged to apply and Sutczak said that the judges were open to art in virtually any medium.
"Sculpture, painting, printmaking, photography- we're welcoming anything," he said. The theme of this year's art prize is resilience and entries are open until October 15.
