Victoria's five-day snap lockdown and subsequent border closures from the Tasmanian and South Australian governments led NBL1 South to put all round 13 matches on hold, with an eye to playing a catch-up round next week.
The change of plans means Sarah Veale's side, who had been out to firm up their top-four spot with a victory, will instead have to settle for playing a practice game this weekend.
"With the news that Victoria was going into lockdown, I think we all knew what would probably happen," Veale said.
"We were at practice [Thursday night] from 5-7pm and partway through practice we saw the announcement from NBL1 that they've cancelled this round.

"What's being talked about is potentially we would play next week Friday night and Saturday night, so they'd send two teams to Tassie and have two games - a double-header maybe in Ulverstone one night and Elphin the next.
"Whether that happens or not depends on whether the lockdown is lifted and Tassie lets them back in - next Tuesday we might know more.
"I think the more it happens the more we roll with punches."
Back on the court after the entire 2020 season was called off, the Tornadoes have returned to winning ways, flying through the first two-thirds of the season with a 10-4 win-loss record.
Only a one-point, overtime defeat to Melbourne Tigers last round kept the fourth-placed Tornadoes from being higher on the ladder heading into this weekend's game.
"It was a bit of a heartbreaker that's for sure - I don't think there's a worse way to lose than in overtime by one point," Veale said.
"We were fairly flat, however, we know that what will define us as a team is how we get through losses together - it's easy to get through a win together, so we're really focused on how we lost.
"We haven't lost many games so it's a different feeling, but it's really motivated us to never want to feel like that again."
