North Launceston is launching another attack at UTAS Stadium and almost predictably, the ball winds up in the hands of the home team's no. 1 on the 50m arc.
At that point, only one thing can happen.
"He's not passing," North captain Jay Foon says.
"His eyes are set on the goals, he's a player that loves a goal and for good reason - he kicks them most of the time.
"If you've got the ball around the 40m mark and you burn the coach, you're in a bit of strife because he loves having a crack at them from outside 50 and he'll tell you about it too."
After five premierships, 393 goals and a highlight reel brimming with 50m bombs, Cox-Goodyer will play his 200th senior game against Clarence on Saturday.
The 28-year-old will become just the 14th player to reach the milestone in the club's 128-year history, and the first to do so through the club's junior program.
Approaching 20 years at the club, Cox-Goodyer has won virtually every major individual accolade the TSL has to offer, but says seeing teammates succeed is where he finds the most enjoyment.
"It's been extremely rewarding watching these guys grow throughout the year," the first-year coach said.
"You watch your Michael Stingels and your Brandon Learys ... I could name 18 of them really, but watching these guys play their first year of senior footy and learn and trying to get better has been really rewarding.
"If you talk about highlights and careers - that's definitely right up there with premierships for me.
"I take personal development very seriously and I love being able to help the young guys and be a part of their journey.
"Hopefully if they leave this club they go on to bigger and better things or be better people, but if they stay at our club then they teach the next generation coming through.
"It's a cycle of success if your leaders are passing down what they know to the next crop."
Set to turn 29 in March, Cox-Goodyer looks to have years of good footy ahead of him, but laughed off the prospect of becoming North's second-ever 300-gamer.
"I've got to get through 200 first yet," he joked.
"I've got no expectation on where I'll finish.
"When people get to these milestones they tell you it goes quickly - I never believed that when I was a young kid - now I'm here it's definitely true.
"I'm probably the fittest I've ever been currently ... as long as the body holds up and I still enjoy it, I'll keep cracking along."
JAY FOON - North Launceston captain
Coxy's a great person. He's really good with relationships, so he's well-liked in both our four walls and the community.
On field he's just a bull - the State League knows exactly what he's like, he's a hard-working, physical player that dominates games and he's dominated them for a long time.
He's got an awesome left-foot kick that a lot of players like myself would love to possess.
He probably could have played football at a higher level, but if you have a look at his resume of TSL footy, he's probably been one of the greatest.
MITCH THORP - Launceston coach
The gap between his best and worst is probably the smallest in the competition, there's very few weeks go by where he doesn't have a lot of the footy and hit the scoreboard.
A game that stands out is when he kicked eight goals in [the 2017] grand final ... his best footy's obviously been as a midfielder, but on that day he was almost unstoppable.
TRENT BAUMELER - Kingborough coach
He's started at under-9s, been the captain, now he's the senior coach ... he's a fantastic player.
He gives you that many headaches when you've got to plan against him and when you play against him.
I don't really know Brad that well but after Tyler Carter had that injury earlier on this year, Brad was one of the first people to go out of his way to get my number and pass on his best wishes from himself and the North Launceston footy club.
Outside of everything he's achieved and his prodigious ability in football, that one single action, that's the measure of the man.
