Ill health has led RSL Tasmania state president Robert Dick to resign from his position after two years in his current role.
Mr Dick resigned at an RSL board meeting on Wednesday, citing personal reasons for his decision.
He has been state president since May 2019. He also held the position between 2013 and 2017, and was RSL national president for 18 months in 2017/2018.
Mr Dick said he believed the league had a good future ahead with younger veterans at the helm.
"I feel that the league is in good hands, knowing that a group of younger, proactive veterans of recent conflicts had stepped into leadership roles within the Tasmanian RSL," he said.
Current vice-president Barry Quinn will become acting state president of RSL Tasmania for the foreseeable future while the board determines its long-term succession plan.
"We wish Robert well and thanked him on behalf of the Board and membership for his many years of strong leadership and dedication to the League in Tasmania," Mr Quinn said.
