This Kamchatka brown bear, also known as the Far Eastern Russian brown bear, stands at 2.4 metres on his hind legs.
If you want to add this to your family home, it is valued at an estimated $35,000 to $45,000.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The bear was shot in 2008 and stuffed by renowned taxidermist Mel Burton in Queensland before finding its way to Launceston and into the Armitage Auction showroom.
Neil O'Brien from Armitage Auctions said the giant bear was one of the most unique things to go under the hammer in his time in the industry.
"I am sure it is going to create a lot of interest because we've never ever sold one before, I've been here for 3o years and we've never sold a full taxidermied bear," he said.
"As far as the unique or rare side of things, it's very unique as I say the first one I've seen in 30 odd years.
"It's very difficult nowadays to get these sort of things imported so the good thing about this is it's here and it is available."
Also going under the hammer at the auction, is a rare Robison Bros copper and brass helmet from 1945 made for the defence department during the war.
The rare item is believed to be one of only 60 to be ever made and is expected to fetch $30,000 to $40,000 at auction.
Mr O'Brien said nautical collectables, such as this helmet, were another rare find in an auction.
"To get an item like this is very rare ... they scrapped a lot of them after World War 2 so how many of them are still out there is a bit of an unknown quantity."
A version of this helmet sold in a 2014 auction for $47,000.
Auction bidding begins online Friday May 28 and concludes on Wednesday June 2.
