One Beaconsfield family's Mother's Day has been saved as they were reunited with their beloved family pet German Shepherd after he went missing last night.

The family realised "Bear" had wandered from their High Street South property in the early hours of this morning and set off looking for him.
Shortly thereafter they discovered he had heartbreakingly become trapped down a nearby mineshaft.
Crews from Tasmania Fire Service and State Emergency Service were called in to rescue the petrified pup as day broke.
The crews dropped an extension ladder down into the shrubbery-surrounded mineshaft, made their way down and recovered Bear before climbing to safety.
Brigade Chief Todd Russell said the dog was reunited with his owners a short time later after implementing safety harnesses and rope to hoick poor Bear up.
Brigade chief Todd Russell is the same Todd Russell who became trapped in the Beaconsfield mine disaster in 2006. After being stuck for almost 15 days, Mr Russell emerged from the mine with mate Brant Webb.
In a serendipitous twist of fate, Bear was rescued on May 9, the same day Mr Russell walked free from the mine.
Bear's rescue was less dramatic as he scrambled the final half a metre to safety and jumped straight into his owner's arms.
