A driver competing in the Targa Tasmania rally has tragically died after a serious crash on day five of the event.

Police confirmed Shane Navin, 68, died in a single-vehicle crash on the Lyell Highway near Double Barrel Creek.
Emergency services were called to the scene about 10.50am, however Mr Navin died.
"Our thoughts are with Mr Navin's family and his loved ones at this difficult time," a Tasmania Police spokesperson said.
Mr Navin and his front seat passenger were taking part in the Targa event in a 1979 red Mazda RX7.
The crash is being investigated by police and the road remains blocked for south-bound motorists.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area or anticipate delays until the scene is cleared.

It is understood the crash involved a car taking part in the Targa tarmac rally, and happened on the Lyell Highway near Double Barrell Creek.
Police have not provided details on the seriousness of the injuries.
The road is blocked for southbound motorists.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area or anticipate delays until the scene is cleared.
