The architectural firm won the tender to carry out the design of the historic hall's new entrance for $460,655, which was approved by the City of Launceston council at its meeting on Thursday.
The council's chief executive officer Michael Stretton said the hall's renewal project was progressing well.
"Terroir will lead the architectural and engineering design team charged with creating a new accessible public entrance for the Albert Hall's eastern wing, while retaining the building's heritage significance," he said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"The first stage includes upgrades to the hall's heating, lighting, audio and visual capabilities, while the second stage will see major improvements to the hall's amenities and meeting rooms.
"The design work for stage three will be carried out through the remainder of 2021, and we expect to advertise a development application for construction of the stage three works by early 2022."
The works are part of a $10 million federal election promise made by the Liberal government in the lead-up to the 2019 election and is a key part of the Launceston City Deal.
The redevelopment came after a reflection period and a $60,000 feasibility study which commenced in early 2019.

Mr Stretton said the tender was awarded after a competitive process but it would be inappropriate to provide details of unsuccessful candidates in the public sphere.
"Suffice to say, the council's Tender Review Committee ultimately selected local Tasmanian architectural firm Terroir as the successful bidder," he said.
"Competitive tender processes encourage competition between suppliers to ensure best value for money for ratepayers."
