A St Leonards man had a suspicion that equipment delivered to his premises was stolen, the Supreme Court in Launceston heard on Monday.
Heath Maxwell Lethborg, 32, pleaded not guilty to eight counts of receiving stolen property in 2018-2019.
The Crown alleged that a Mitsubishi Canter truck, a Bobcat, K'archer, tandem tool trailer and an ATV trailer, a commercial lighting system, a Honda scooter and a radio detection locator and transponder kit were stolen from businesses in Northern Tasmania.

Counsel Grant Tucker said the issue for the jury was the knowledge that Mr Lethborg held about the goods.
"He did not know they were stolen and in some cases did not even know they were there on his property," he said.
Mr Michael Lees said he left the Canter at his Youngtown crushing business on a Friday night in April 2019 and found it and the keys missing the next day.
The theft triggered a police investigation which resulted in a search and the discovery of the items.
However, because the number plates had been swapped and the vehicle identification number ground off it was 21 days before police realised it was Mr Lees' truck.The trial continues.
