With the first Pfizer jab expected to be given in Tasmania at 9am on Tuesday, the Deputy Premier has confirmed that the COVID-19 vaccine will not be made compulsory in Tasmania.
Mr Rockliff said that he will be getting the vaccine when it is his turn, and encouraged others to do the same.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"We're not making the vaccinations mandatory," Mr Rockliff said.
"It's important that all Tasmanians have a full understanding that the vaccination program is safe, it's effective, and of course, it's free.
"We're calling on all Tasmanians to do their bit and roll up their sleeves when it is their turn for the vaccination, to ensure that they keep themselves safe, and of course their loved ones and the entire Tasmanian community."
