The Kangaroos' contract to play four games at Bellerive Oval a season expires at the end of 2021, with Amarfio on Monday saying the club was "pumped and excited" to get back to the state, providing there are no hiccups like in 2020 when COVID-19 shut the team out.

"Bernard [TT Line chief executive Bernard Dwyer, with the Spirit of Tasmania's sponsorship key to North playing in Tasmania] and I and our management teams will get together very shortly and discuss what the future looks like,'' Amarfio said when unveiling Tasmanian David Noble as the club's new senior coach.

"We'd love to continue playing in Tassie for a very long time.

"We love Tassie as it is our second home and, this will be good for David, we have a better win-rate down there then we do at Marvel Stadium, so we love playing in Tasmania."

He said a deep connection with the community was key to the relationship, with a focus to be more visible in that area going forward.

Hawthorn's deal with the state government to play four matches at Launceston's UTAS Stadium will also expire at the end of 2021.

Talks on both deals were delayed due to COVID-19.

Meanwhile, North Melbourne general manager of football Brady Rawlings believes there are four to five strong draft prospects in his home state this year.

"It has been a little bit of a different year, but thankfully the Tassie guys have been able to get some TSL football behind them, and there are certainly four or five there who are definitely a chance to be on a list,'' the Devonport product said.

"We will see what happens in the coming weeks, but there is a little group that are getting attention from AFL clubs and the ones we have spoken to have certainly had a fair bit of interest from other clubs.

"Fingers crossed for the Tasmanian youth that there are opportunities there at AFL level as there is certainly a bit of talent there.

"The one thing this year that might be different given the list sizes is the amount of picks that will occur at national draft level.

"We think there will be less across the board than previous years.

"Some clubs are looking at taking one pick, maybe two.

"We are in a different boat, we will be looking at five picks in the national draft and there are certainly some other clubs around four and five picks as well."

Among the Tasmanians seen as a chance this year are North Launceston's Jackson Callow, Clarence's Oliver Davis and North Hobart's Patrick Walker.

Rawlings' comments came on a day when a Tasmanian player had his 2021 AFL plans locked in.

Former Northern Bomber Jay Lockhart was upgraded to Melbourne's senior list with a one year contract extension.

The 24-year-old, a pre-season supplementary selection, has played 22 games for the Demons since making his debut in 2019.
