A five metre shark has been seen prowling along the coast at Okehampton Bay, according to a police report.

The species of the shark is unknown but it was sighted about 250 metres off shore in the bay near Triabunna, Tasmania Police said.

A shark is also believed to have been seen recently in a similar area from the ferry at Darlington.
The sighting comes after another shark, reported to be a Great White, was in Noland Bay earlier this month.
Earlier this year a 10-year-old boy was attacked by a Great White off the coast of Stanley.
