On a day when just 11 goals were kicked at KGV and three at Windsor Park, the Northern Bombers nearly outscored the rest of the competition in a 13.9 (87) to 4.7 (31) win over Kingborough.
The hosts took a two-goal lead into half time and kept Kingborough to just five points thereafter as defender Jack Avent and key forward Bart McCulloch ran amok.
Assigned the mammoth task of tagging star Tigers midfielder Kieran Lovell, Avent limited the ex-Hawk's influence to two goals while collecting a huge 35 touches of his own.
McCulloch (five goals, six marks) dominated North Launceston's forward line for the second week running with strong marks, pinpoint set shots and even a holding the ball decision against his Tigers namesake Blake.
"The big fella kicked five - I thought he was super clean even in the wet below his knees which is credit to him," Northern Bombers coach Taylor Whitford said.
"Jack Avent was really good, he played on Kieran who's a fantastic player and beat him in his own right.
"He's one of those small defenders that you give him a job and he does it, but to throw him on the premier midfielder in the comp and to get that job done is a real feather in his cap.
"The most pleasing thing is it wasn't a shutdown role where he gets none of the footy, I was really pleased that he was able to work inside and get more of the footy than Kieran did."
Despite a wet first half, the Northern Bombers looked clean with ball in hand.
Whitford, Josh Ponting and Brad Cox-Goodyer were typically classy around the ground and gathered 20-plus disposals each, while down back Arion Richter-Salter intercepted well to nullify Kingborough attacks.
Jack Rushton was energetic up forward and Jake Laskey kicked his first TSL major with a smart left-foot snap close to goal before adding a second from a challenging set-shot.
Whitford was pleased with his side's willingness to take the game on.

"It was pretty wet and slippery in that first half but we just didn't want to be down the line, long to a contest, we still wanted to take it on," Whitford said.
"It didn't come off all the time, but we're continuing to build.
"The most pleasing thing for me is we're giving guys new roles and they're jumping at it - Sherrin [Egger], Baynen Lowe, Mark Walsh played back today.
"Jackson Callow played in defence again in the second half and they're relishing that opportunity and that's really good for our footy club that we can still have Josh and Brad here but we can also blend in these guys that can take the mantle in the next couple of years."
The Northern Bombers had two late outs with Dan Withers (back spasms) and Braden van Buuren (tightness) replaced by Ben Simpson and James Curran.
Wingman Liam Davies, who won 19 touches in one of his best performances this season, left the ground late in the fourth term in some pain after copping a knock to the shoulder.
"Nothing popped out, it's just a bit of a stinger at this stage hopefully," Whitford said.
"He'll get that looked at on Monday and hopefully it's ok.
"We've got Glenorchy next week and then Launceston on the short turnaround so we're hoping it's nothing major."
