Olympia's Southern Championship side also won by the same scoreline against City's Northern Championship outfit reduced to 10-men following the dismissal of Daniel Smith.
Riverside's teams suffered mixed fortunes in a series of fixtures at Devonport.
Alex Gaetani's NPL Tasmania side went down 1-0 to the reigning state champions while the Northern Championship team earned a 1-1 draw. This followed heavy defeats for Olympic's under-18s and women although the under-16s won a high-scoring encounter 7-4.
All four of Launceston's teams will be getting their delayed seasons underway with cup commitments next Saturday.
The Lakoseljac Cup will see Launceston City host Devonport and Launceston United welcome South Hobart to Birch Avenue while Riverside and Northern Rangers travel to University and Glenorchy respectively.
This year's Lakoseljac Cup winner will not compete in the FFA Cup which was officially cancelled on Saturday due to the coronavirus.
In the women's statewide cup, Riverside hosts Metro at Windsor Park while Launceston City and Northern Rangers meet at Prospect.
Under-20 cup ties include Glenorchy v Launceston City, Kingborough v Northern Rangers and Clarence Zebras v Riverside.
The opening round of Northern Championship fixtures for both genders on July 18 will be Riverside v Devonport, Northern Rangers v Launceston United, Somerset v Launceston City and Ulverstone v Burnie.
Riverside also host Devonport in NPL Tasmania while City travel to South Hobart.
