After a prolonged series of meetings between club presidents and Football Tasmania, an agreement has been reached that will see the seasons begin with a round of cup games on July 11.
The following weekend, eight-team, 14-round competitions will kick-off in the NPL Tasmania and men's and women's Northern Championships. The NC1 reserves will run as a seven-team comp following Northern Rangers' withdrawal earlier this month.
Draft rosters have been circulated among clubs and are set to be announced next week with Riverside to host champions Devonport and Launceston City travelling to South Hobart for their opening NPL Tasmania fixtures on the weekend of July 18-19.
The Northern neighbours are scheduled for their first derby meeting in round 3 at Prospect.
Where possible, all fixtures have been aligned so clubs could be staging as many as six match-day fixtures on multiple pitches with under-16 and under-18 competitions also factored in.
Riverside Olympic president Stuart McCarron said clubs were delighted with the outcome. "There's been some meaningful discussions between the NPL clubs and Football Tasmania which have come to a successful resolution so the season can start," he said.
"The season was in doubt, but following extensive work from FT chairman Bob Gordon and the rest of the board, a compromise was reached."
It is understood all eight NPL Tasmania clubs have written to FT confirming their participation.
I think all clubs are reasonably happy with what is being proposed.

"I think all clubs are reasonably happy with what is being proposed.
"Compromises were needed because of the COVID situation but we're all glad we're going to get on the park."
A legacy of the discussion process has seen the eight club presidents agree to stage monthly meetings to discuss operational matters in conjunction with FT.
In addition to three sides in the North of the state, the NPL Tasmania includes South Hobart, Olympia, Kingborough, Glenorchy and the newly-merged Clarence Zebras.
Ulverstone remains the only Northern side in the statewide women's league which also includes South Hobart, Clarence, University, Olympia and Kingborough.
The July 11 Lakoseljac Cup fixtures will see Launceston City host Devonport and Launceston United welcome South Hobart to Birch Avenue while Riverside and Northern Rangers travel to University and Glenorchy respectively.
In the women's statewide cup, Riverside plays Metro at Windsor Park while Launceston City and Northern Rangers meet at Prospect.
Under-20 cup ties include Glenorchy v Launceston City, Kingborough v Northern Rangers and Clarence Zebras v Riverside.
