Clearly the best side last season, the Blues waltzed through 15 home and away games undefeated with a percentage of 850.
But a plucky Clarence took the shine from an otherwise stellar season, snatching an unlikely grand final upset and forcing the Blues to reassess their goals for 2020.
"We did have a disappointing end to our season last year," new Launceston captain Dearne Taylor said.
"We worked pretty hard during the year, so to lose our only game of the year in the grand final by three points was pretty disappointing.
"But I think with this year being such an unusual year our main focus is really just on having fun.
"That is probably our main focus this year - it's not all about winning we've learned and our main focus is getting everyone involved and having fun."
The 2020 TSLW season was confirmed last week, with the six teams set to play each other twice before a two-week finals series.
While contact training remains a while off, teams will likely be free to train in groups of up to 80 for the first time since March from Wednesday onwards.
Taylor said her players had been relishing the chance to train together after putting in the hard yards during the COVID-19 break.
"The highlight [of pre-season] would be how much extra the girls have been doing out of training," Taylor said.
"When we had that big break due to corona everyone lifted and did their own thing out of training, I think that was a bit of a highlight for us."
