Lead was first detected in the drinking water at Pioneer in 2012.
In February, TasWater sent a letter to residents of Pioneer which said they would provide water to affected residents until the treatment plant could be built.

However, residents were still unsure whether all people in the town would be provide free water.
TasWater have since confirmed to independent MLC Tania Rattray that they will be providing free refills to every resident.
"It is our intention to supply tankered water to all residents as necessary until service reintroduction is complete," they said.
"TasWater will be providing the community with additional information on how this will work along with other measures we will be taking during this interim period once we have received sign off from our regulators."
