Police and Ashley Youth Detention Centre management will review an incident that occurred on Friday night, where six youths armed themselves with hammers and screwdrivers and caused signficant damage to the facility.

An investigation will be carried out following an incident at the Ashley Youth Detention Centre on Friday night, which saw detainees wielding hammers and screwdrivers climb up onto the roof of the facility, cause extensive damage and refuse to come down for more than seven hours.
