In what will come as welcome news to firefighters and fire-threatened communities, areas in the Central North are predicted to hit a maximum temperature of 28 degrees, while the highest temperature in the South-East region is expected to reach 29 degrees.
Fingal, however, is facing a maximum temperature of 31 degrees today, as are St Helens and St Marys.
MORE ON THE TASMANIAN FIRES:
There are currently numerous fires burning at Fingal. Four are at watch and act level.
Bureau of Meteorology duty forecaster Anna Forrest said a westerly trough and a cold front would pass over the state on Saturday.
"Later today, the frontal features are still coming through a little bit more rapidly than we were expecting yesterday so the temperatures may not reach the ones we were expecting yesterday and that's good news for the firies," she said.
Northern Tasmanians woke on Saturday to find a haze blanketing the region, with smoke from the Victorian bushfires having drifted across Bass Strait overnight.
A cloudy day with smoke haze in the morning is forecast for Launceston. Light winds will become northwest to southwesterly and reach up to 35 kilometres per hour in the middle of the day, and then will tend southerly, reaching up to 25 kilometres per hour in the evening.
At Fingal, hot and partly cloudy conditions are forecast. North to northwesterly winds of up to 35 kilometres per hour are tipped for the area, and it's believed these will shift to southwesterly winds of up to 40 kilometres per hour in the early afternoon.
Then, in the evening, winds will purportedly decrease to a maximum of 30 kilometres per hour.
Ms Forrest said temperatures were predicted to drop on Sunday, with a high of 24 degrees forecast for Launceston, and 23 for Hobart.
A max of 24 degrees is expected for Fingal, with light winds forecast.
"The southwesterlys are bringing a bit of cool air through with them," Ms Forrest said. "The winds will drop out."
"We're going to be under a ridge so that's not going to fan the fires as much.
"Conditions [will] generally [be] better tomorrow than today."
