The Tamar Sunrise Rotary Club's Carols by Candlelight has raised an impressive $103,500 in seven years for The Examiner's Empty Stocking Appeal.

The appeal is edging closer to its $90,000 target thanks to the club's $15,000 donation raised at Carols by Candlelight.
It pushes the total funds raised for the 111th appeal to more than $78,000 before Christmas, with more expected following the break.
The Examiner's acting editor Corey Martin said he was very grateful for all of the donations over the past few weeks and the club's ongoing commitment to the cause.
"It's a great gift for all the charities and the beauty of it is it's a community effort," Mr Martin said.
"There is still time to donate, we're stilling hoping to reach our $90,000 goal.
"We're very fortunate to have clubs like the Tamar Sunrise Rotary Club who put on this incredible event and then to have so many people support it is remarkable."

The Rotary Club of Tamar Sunrise presented the cheque to The Examiner at City Park on Christmas Eve.
Carols committee chairperson Danny Gibson said through the community's goodwill the club was able to donate the $15,000 this year.
"We obviously rely on the amazing generosity of our sponsors, who year on year support this event, but more than that the generosity of the public who come along and pay their small fee to enjoy the carols event," he said.
"It was a beautiful feeling of community and connectedness using the real candles for the very first time in a number of years was truly special."
Mr Gibson said the community mentioned the togetherness of lighting their neighbours candle and the enjoyment of the three-hour program with more than 120 local performers and bands.
Donations for the appeal will remain open until early 2020. Every dollar will go towards Launceston City Mission, The Salvation Army, The Benevolent Society and St Vincent De Paul.
