St Augustine's Church will hold a garage sale this Saturday and has been "overwhelmed" by interest.
Sale convener Barbara Baker said with the front porch needing bluestone, mortar and roofing replaced at a "considerable" cost, the church put a call out to its parishioners.
"We decided to have a garage sale and ask the parishioners to donate," she said. "We've been overwhelmed. The place is actually heaving with items to sell."

A wide variety of furniture and collectibles will be on hand, along with plants, crafts and preserves.
Emergency relief organisation Helping Hand - co-owned by the regions churches - also has a "considerable" amount to sell. "So it will benefit Helping Hand as well," Ms Baker said.
The garage sale will take place at the Goderich Street church from 8am to 2pm on Saturday, October 19.
