The only two Northerners in the team that will compete in Hobart's national championships this week, the pair were both introduced to the sport by a family member.
Best of all, they enjoy a close friendship despite attending different schools - Exeter High School and St Patrick's College respectively - and generally playing for different teams.
"We're good friends because we get to see each other for hockey all the time and I play with her and against her," Launceston City-Tamar Churinga player White said.

"We play with each other for under-16s and we [play against] each each other in everything else."
They get along equally well playing as opponents as they do playing as teammates.
"We make it funny-competitive - if I go to tackle her or something we'll start laughing," White said.
The pair will play as many as a dozen games over the coming week against under-13 teams from every state and territory.
The championships will be run in conjunction with the Australian Hockey League and will see Queechy Penguins' Steward - who is also a talented BMX rider - take part in her second hockey nationals.
"The thing that got me into hockey was my brother, he started doing it and then I thought I'd skip netball and go into hockey," Steward said.
"It's a bit nerve-racking facing all the different teams."
