The recycling hub offers the public an easy option for upcycling and recycling items, City of Launceston mayor Albert van Zetten said.
Items that be recycled include batteries, CDs and DVDs, printer cartridges, small e-waste items like digital cameras and mobile phones, plastic terracycle packaging like toothpaste tubes, unwanted medical x-rays, plastic bread tags, aluminium coffee pods and eyeglasses.
"Some of the items we can recycle through the recycling hub can't be recycled in our kerbside recycling service, so this is a great option for those items," Cr van Zetten said.
"We hope it will be an easy and convenient location for people to recycle."
