It's a question that follows Peter Murphy wherever he goes - from Vietnam to Prague. But it's also one the veteran TV weather presenter does not expect to let up any time soon.
"You're a litmus test for where Tasmanians are in the world at any time," he said. "We were in Venice one day and you hear [it] out of the blue ... and it will be someone from Devonport or someone from Hobart."
Monday will mark 35 years since Mr Murphy made his first appearance on Tasmanian TV after more than a decade of work in radio - starting in his home town of Moree.
IN OTHER NEWS
"Nine has a new face to read the weather," the Sunday Examiner reported on September 9, 1984. "But for listeners of 7EX the voice will be familiar."
Mr Murphy is now beamed into lounge rooms around the state on 7 Tasmania - but still sits at the same desk.
Much else has changed in the time since, however.
There were no green screens in a pre-digital world, with temperatures placed onto a magnetic map instead.
The magnets would hold single- or double-digit temperatures just fine. Communicating a strong wind warning was a different story.
"There was only a magnet on one end and the other end, and every time we would put it up on the board it would slide down while we were doing the weather," he recalled.
The weather itself has also changed over the years.
"Weather events aren't as cyclical as they used to be, they tend to be more extreme," Mr Murphy said. "In particular, I've never known the East Coast of Tasmania to be so dry."
When newsreader Jo Palmer struggled to speak during a story on the flu season in 2016, Mr Murphy jumped in to help out.
But the role has been only a part of his life, often being called on to MC concerts and even holding regular DJ spots in Launceston nightclubs at one time.
Since 1991 Mr Murphy has also worked in financial services - a field he continues in today at Tasplan.
"It has been a very busy period of time, and I don't know when I am going to be able to put my feet up and take some well-earned holiday time," he laughed.
