Coles Kings Meadows staff were threatened by a man armed with a knife on Saturday night, who tried to leave the supermarket with a trolley filled with goods.

Launceston police are investigating the armed robbery, which occurred at Coles just before 8pm.
Police said the man filled a trolley with goods and attempted to leave the supermarket.

When confronted by a Coles staff member the man produced a knife and threatened staff before fleeing with the trolley, a Tasmania Police spokesperson said.
"The trolley and contents were recovered outside the business and the offender fled on foot," the spokesperson said.
"Multiple police units attended the scene but he was not located.
"No staff members were physically injured in the incident."
Police would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the man in the area.
The man is described as being in his late teens to early 20s, between 180 and 184 centimetres tall with brown hair and wearing a dark-coloured hooded jumper with an orange hood lining, light coloured pants and black shoes.
