The Baker Group was hired by the City of Launceston to create the new-look mall, which officially opened last September complete with benches, a brand-new paving design, and Tasmanian tiger statues.
He said he believed what made the group's approach to the redevelopment stand out was its engagement with stakeholders throughout the project.
"We were able to finish 52 days ahead of schedule," he said.

"There were also some unexpected challenges to the project - there's a lot going on underneath these pavers that you can't see."
And how exactly does one finish a major project so far ahead of expectations?
It's all in the groundwork, Mr Baker said.
"Plan it," he said.
"Planning is everything in today's world.
"We put a lot of work in before the project started to make sure we were on track and then we were working 24/7 a lot of the time.
"While everyone else was sleeping we were working - the team did an absolutely fantastic job."
An award nomination was a valuable reward for his team's hard work, Mr Baker said.
The Baker Group has more than $100 million worth of projects in the pipeline.
That includes townhouses at the A.E. Jack site, 109 residential lots at Evandale called the Barclay. development, and a range of luxury residences around Launceston.
He said the fact the Baker Group had $100 million worth of work to keep them busy in the next decade was "100 per cent" a sign of Launceston's positive outlook.
"Just knowing that there's three to five to 10 years of work allows you to invest in your business, as we are," he said.
"Businesses are definitely feeling optimistic."
If the Baker Group is successful in Tasmania they will be up for a national Civil Contractors Federation award.
