NBL veteran Adam Gibson, who has signed for new side South East Melbourne Phoenix, and Melbourne United star Chris Goulding also join Walker in missing a welcomed homecoming.
Walker will not be a part of the Cairns Taipans that will play in one of two NBL Blitz games at the Silverdome.
The Taipans faces the NBL1 All-Stars that are tipped to include the cream of North-West Thunder and Hobart Huskies talent.
Ulverstone, Devonport, Kingborough and Hobart will host eight other games from September 19-22.
"Hopefully people can see our commitment to Tasmania for bringing the Blitz here," he said.
"I don't know what this rivals, to have all of our teams here is unheard of."
