Unable to recover from a sluggish start, Mitch Thorp's Blues left their run too late as the Demons made them pay with Thorp complimenting Darley's performance.
"Sam Darley destroyed us. We couldn't touch him," he said.
"He put them on his back and carried them - he was outstanding."

Thorp labeled Seymour the Blues' best player in the 13.8 (86) to 11.13 (79) defeat as he "tried his best to stem the tide" of Darley and the potent Demons midfield.
Glenorchy's Ben Kamaric and Lauderdale's Bryce Walsh made inroads to Seymour's lead with three-vote showings as their sides knocked off Clarence and Tigers.
Kamaric's two goals and electric play was enough to poll higher than Kangaroos coach Webberley's five majors as young team-mate Harrison Gunther starred at both ends of the ground to round out the polling.
Walsh led a Lauderdale clean sweep with Nick Raglione taking out the two votes over Sam Siggins' five majors.
