Five of the eight races were won by Sacred Heart students and most of the team events were taken out by the school with their recent success attributed to a number of factors according to physical education teacher John Anderson.
"Many of our kids participate in little athletics and play organised sport on the weekend. We also have regular running sessions before school that sees up to 100 students participating," he said.
The school will now have a large number of students take part at the All Schools Cross Country at Symmons Plains, an event that Sacred Heart pupils have traditionally performed exceptionally in and has subsequently had several students selected for Tasmania.
