League newcomers Olympic picked up their first statewide victory in nearly 20 years when they won 2-1 at Prospect in March when Sciulli said his team also lost the psychological contest.
"I guess they felt they were not expecting to lose but now they know if they don't turn up they're going to get beat again," he said.
"I just thought the guys went in with stupid expectations and maybe disrespected them a bit and if that happens again, I'll be very disappointed."
The sides have just two wins apiece after 10 games although City have also recorded three draws and have a goal difference 26 healthier than their hosts.

However, the visitors have not played for four weeks since a 4-0 win against Kingborough and Sciulli joked: "It's been so long I can't remember anything."
With the two clubs playing each other in four different competitions on Saturday, Olympic coach Alex Gaetani said it's a big occasion for the hosts.
"I think for a long time playing Launceston City is something the club looks forward to. Being at home with four teams in action makes it a pretty exciting day for us," he said.
"It's an opportunity to leverage off some better performances and try and get a result but City are in a better place than when we beat them and will be a tougher challenge.
"It was realistic to think it would take part way through the season for us to really come together and play better football. The improvement has been there, it just has not resulted in wins yet.
"We are doing the off-the-ball stuff better, putting more pressure on, but we are not doing it consistently enough."
Gaetani said Mackye Jago's hamstring is his only injury concern while Mitch Jones scoring twice off the bench against Glenorchy last week presented a strong case for a starting place.
City captain Lindsay Millington should be recovered from a knee injury while striker Noah Mies should be clear to play after a spell playing in Victoria and defender Matt Oh remains in doubt having not trained much since getting concussion.
