St Vincent de Paul state president Mark Gaetani and retail coordinator Mel Alty were excited about the new space, and keen to get some new volunteers onboard to help make it a reality.
"This will be our largest store in Tassie. It's 900 square metres, and we're really quite proud we've got the largest store in Launceston," Mr Gaetani said.
He said the new space would be filled with everything from furniture to clothing.

Ms Alty said there were varied roles for Vinnies volunteers at the store, and all came down to the particular person and their availability.
"It's wide and varied, but can be tailored to suit what the individual is hoping to get out of their volunteering experience," she said.
The new store is expected to open in July, and will operate six days a week.
