Some sat in camp chairs and enjoyed the live music, others wandered by the many food and beverage stalls, making careful decisions about what to sample – and what order to do it in.
Children weren’t left out either, with a jumping castle at one end and the light breeze providing the perfect environment for bubbles at the other.
Standing clear of the swirling group of kids, Eddie and Laura Moore, from Launceston, stood with their son Hamish and planned their next move.

Their other son, Flynn, was busy chasing the bubbles.
The two had “had a fair innings” early on, but were working back up for a second pass.
“We’ve done a hot lap and we’re going to go again,” said Mr Moore, whose early pick of the food was the Lamb Bar. “I rated that, because it was cooked over fire – over coals – it was great.”
For the second offering, the pair thought they might go savoury again, though the mini pavlovas were “definitely in their sights”.
Saturdays were easy with the kids, Mrs Moore said, adding that the whole experience was an improvement again even on their visit last year.
“It seems like there’s more vendors and far more seating. This is not the first time we’ve come with the pram either, it seems easier to navigate.”
She noted the fact Party in the Paddock was not being held on the same weekend had probably helped boost the numbers streaming through the gates too.
“There’s a fair crowd already, for this time of day,” Mr Moore added.
Sam and Lill Crow also had their children Grace and Poppy in tow for the day – along with Mr Crow’s nephew, Max.
The kids alternated between dancing to the sounds of Nadira and Friends and enjoying a cool ice cream.
The group had come up from Hobart for the weekend for the event – which also coincided with Mrs Crow’s birthday.
“It was my birthday yesterday, so we came up for the weekend. Just a family weekend,” Mrs Crow said.
“It looks bigger,” Mr Crow said, having attended last two years ago. “There’s much more tables.”
Jon Stevens and Kate Cebrano performed for the crowds on Saturday night, with 18 other acts gracing the event’s two stages over the course of the day.
Food fanatics were not left out either, with cooking demonstrations from Launceston chefs, a 2015 Masterchef contestant, plus one of the show’s judges – Matt Preston.
The event continues Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
