This is the first year the concert, held at City Park on Saturday, February 23, at 7pm, has required tickets.
Despite being free, concert-goers still needed to register online in order to attend. The TSO said this is so they can accurately measure attendance at the event, to provide adequate facilities, manage safety measures and to better communicate with the audience.
In the statement, the Orchestra asked anyone who has registered but is unable to attend to get in touch, so that they can re-release the spots.
“If you have any tickets you aren't using, please consider returning them to the TSO Box Office.
“We would love to pass them on to another customer. Many thanks for your support and enthusiasm for these events.”
The TSO Box Office can be contacted on 1800 001 190, or by emailing boxoffice@tso.com.au.
